Don Eichstaedt - Board Member
Don Eichstaedt (and his wife Nancy) have been rental property owners for
over 24 years and members of REIA for over 23 years. They are now in a
retirement/cash flow mode. They have been involved with single family home
rentals, a few rehabs, land, tax sales, mortgages, lease/options and land
contracts. They do most of the minor work on their houses themselves, hiring
out the big jobs. They took classes from Marvin Rich, Chuck Wilson and Gary
Segatti.
Don was president of REIA for 4 years and has been on the board for nearly
20 years. He was also president of the state association, the Rental
Property Owners Assoc. of Michigan (RPOAM) for 2 years. He currently is
their Secretary and the REIA delegate, monitoring and working on legislation
in Lansing. Don has been a REIA delegate to National Real Estate Investors
Assoc. (NaREIA) for about 20 years.
Don retired from Ford Motor Company after working in Special Vehicles and
Advanced Vehicles on many special cars, concept cars, race cars and
workhorse prototypes. His biggest projects were: supervising the build of
the 1967 LeMans (France) 24 Hour race winning Ford GT 40 Mark IV race cars;
he was in charge of the design, build and service of the 1972 Lincoln
Presidential Limousine used by presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter and Reagan.
Don graduated from General Motors Institute with an engineering degree. He
was collecting cars before they started collecting houses.
