Education is the cornerstone of your success investing in real estate.  REIA of Oakland strives to offer numerous educational programs along side many educational classes and groups which meet throughout the year.  All members of REIA are able to attend.

Every year Barbara Drake, board member and advanced investor with over 30 years of investing, offers classes relevant to what is happening today.  This year REIA of Oakland has gone to a format of offering four different classes spaced throughout the year instead of four consecutive weeks.  The first one will be the evening of Wednesday April 22 (see insert).  All members of REIA of Oakland are welcome to attend.  REIA of Oakland also has a Landlording Subgroup.  This group meets monthly on Saturday mornings.  Dale Proulx, board member, is chairman of the group.  This group is open to all REIA of Oakland members and is free of charge.  The subject matter changes monthly and is a great opportunity to pick up some good ideas or bounce off some of your own ideas.  The information can be found on page 15 of the newsletter.  The Pontiac Subgroup is available to REIA of Oakland members and meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month.  With all that is going on in Pontiac these days, this is a great connection to make if you have property or are thinking of purchasing property in Pontiac.  This information is on page 6 of the newsletter.  REIA of Oakland also has a new member orientation group, Soaring with the Sparrows, which meets quarterly throughout the year.  The meeting is co-chaired by Ron Watcke and Len Bale.  This group is open to all members and is an open forum.  REIA of Oakland also has another new subgroup!  The Advanced Investor Subgroup for advanced investors who have accomplished at least ten real estate investment transactions.  REIA of Oakland will be setting up a meeting place for this group in the very near future.
