We have had excellent monthly programs this past year;
national speakers Dave Lindahl on apartment investing, Nick
Sidoti on landlording and property management, and several
local speakers regarding title companies, bankruptcy, asset
protection and investing in our local ever-changing market.
As an association, we attempt to vary our monthly programs
by having both national speakers (books & tapes) and local
speakers and panels addressing our local market and
immediate concerns as real estate investors.
As we approach our new fiscal year, October 1st, the Board
of Directors and the Program Committee will be deciding on
programs for the next twelve months. The Board of
Directors needs suggestions from the general membership so
our programming represents the needs and desires of all
real estate investors in our association.
Please email your suggestions to REIANEWS@aol.com or call
the Association office at (800) 747-6742 during normal
business hours.
Board elections are also on the horizon, and half the
members of the Board of Directors will be up for
re-election or replacement. If you are interested in being
a Board member, and would like to know more about the
position, then perhaps you would like to attend our next
Board of Directors meeting, September 7, 2006 at Hogan's
Restaurant on Telegraph in Bloomfield Hills. Dinner (on
your own) at 6:30, meeting starts at 7:00. Please call the
Association office to let us know you are coming. If you
would like to serve in another capacity, we also encourage
your involvement and active participation as a committee
member, or on a special assignment.
Remember, our mission is "to help real estate investors of
all levels from the shared experiences of others under the
highest ethical standards". It doesn't matter if you are
just starting out or you have been investing for several
years, REIA needs you!
Good Investing,
Ron Watcke, President
Real Estate Investors Association of Oakland
